The '''I. A. L. Diamond Award for Achievement in the Arts''' is presented each spring by the [[Varsity Show]] to "Columbia or Barnard alumnus/a who has demonstrated continued commitment to and has found success in the arts." The award is named after academy award winner [[I. A. L. Diamond]] [[Columbia College|CC]] '41, the only Columbian to have written four Varsity Show scripts. It is often presented to past directors of the Varsity Show and, unlike some Columbia awards, tends to actually be a good gauge of alumni who are actually (or will be) famous.
