View source for Johnson Medal

The '''Samuel Johnson Medal for Distinguished Achievement''' is given by the [[Columbia Engineering Alumni Association]] to an alumnus/a in recognition of achievement outside the realm of engineering or applied science. 

The name is curious, since it's named after [[Samuel Johnson]], the first president of [[King's College]] who really didn't have much to do with engineering and predated the foundation of [[SEAS]] by over a century.

The creation of the award was announced in Spring [[2005]].
