'''Samuel Johnson''' was the first president of [[King's College]]. He was originally a minister from [[:w:Connecticut|Connecticut]], and attended [[Yale]]. 

Johnson helped popularize [[:w:George Berkeley|George Berkeley]]'s philosophy in British North America.  The [[Columbia Engineering Alumni Association]] awards the Samuel Johnson Medal for Distinguished Professional Achievement in his honor.
