The '''Women's Lacrosse Team''' at Columbia holds the unfortunate distinction of being among the most dismal programs at a school replete with dismal teams. Playing their inaugural season in [[1997]], and entering conference play in the [[Ivy League]] for the first time in [[1998]], the team has a lifetime 3-109 record in conference play. The team won its first conference game in [[2005]], defeating Harvard by 2 goals in its final conference game of the year. Harvard finished the year tied with Columbia for last in the conference. In 2009 the team repeated the feat, defeating Harvard by 1 goal, and ending the season in a last place tie with the Crimson. In 2011 the team earned its third ever ivy win, and first ever ivy home win, by defeating Yale. 2011 also marked the first time the team finished above last place, finishing above the winless Bulldogs.

Admittedly the Ivy League is pretty dominant in [[lacrosse]], and compared to its abject conference record, the team was 50-14 in non-conference games from 2003-2010.
