Judith Shapiro is the 10th and current President of Barnard College and therefore an academic dean within Columbia University. She has been in these positions since 1994. She was previously the Provost of Bryn Mawr College.

On Monday April 9th 2007, Shapiro announced she would step down at the end of the 2007-2008 academic year.
