Leonard Cohen, the Canadian singer/songwriter/poet, spent a year at Columbia, possibly at the law school, in 1956-1957, after dropping out of McGill's law school. He later dropped out of Columbia as well, to chill with the Beats for awhile. He didn't like them that much, and wound up moving to an isolated island in Greece.
