John McCain is a US Senator from Arizona who was the Republican nominee for the US Presidential Election of 2008. In the general election, McCain lost to Democrat Barack Obama.
His daughter, Meghan McCain, was in the Columbia College Class of 2007. His favorite thing about Columbia, apparently, was its proximity to Tom's.[1] In 2006, McCain was the keynote speaker of the College's Class Day.
