Syreeta McFadden CC '97 was president of CCSC, secretary of the Black Students Organization and co-editor-in-chief of Roots in Culture, a magazine chronicling the African diaspora. McFadden planned to go to law school to pursue civil rights work. Instead, she got an MFA in creative writing from Sarah Lawrence. She is currently working for the NYC Housing Department and is active in freelance writing and photography from her home in Brooklyn.
