Alex Raskolnikov is an actual Columbia Law School professor whose name just happens to echo that of the protagonist in Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment. Officially, he is Charles Evans Gerber Professor of Law and co-chair of the Charles E. Gerber Transactional Studies Program.
