The George Edward Woodberry Poetry Prize was established by the Woodberry Society as a memorial to George Edward Woodberry. It is awarded to an undergraduate student of the University, including Barnard College, for the best original poem. Offered every other year. Technically, it is supposed to be offered every other year, but is has sometimes been offered in consecutive years, sometimes shared between two students, and, in very recent years, rarely offered at all.
Past winners include famed Beat Generation poet Allen Ginsberg.
