The Panhellenic Council (Panhel) is the self-governing student organization that provides guidelines and support to the sororities it represents. Panhel consists of organizations with national membership in the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC). Each organization is represented at Panhel Meetings to discuss and vote on matters concerning member organizations and the Greek community. Panhellenic assists in establishing guidelines for membership recruitment, service opportunities, and social activities for NPC sorority members.

The Panhellenic Council is a member of the larger Intergreek Council, which is one of the five governing boards recognized and funded by the student councils.

Recruitment

Recruitment for sororities represented by Panhel is handled differently than for the other two Greek governing boards. For recruitment, certain members of each of the four represented sororities are required to disaffiliate for the recruitment period. Any student wishing to join one of the four sororities must attend a series of events organized by Panhel's recruitment committee, and at the end of the events, each pledger receives a bid from one or more sororities.
