The Polish Students Society began several years ago as the Barnard Polish Club, founded by Ania Czaplinski B'06 SIPA '07. It has since expanded to Columbia and seeks to include members of the Polish community and those interested in Polish culture from across the university and the Morningside Heights community.
The club organizes an annual Chopin Piano Competition, to which it invites worldwide competitors, and marches with a Columbia banner in New York City's Pulaski Day Parade.
