Upstart is a Columbia literature and arts magazine which has been published in two series since the late 1970s. The magazine has featured new and original works of fiction, poetry, critical essays, and art works.
Students from all undergraduate schools (and some graduate schools) at Columbia have served as editors. Past members of the editorial board include Jim Jarmusch CC '75 and a range of other alumnae/i who have been successful in the arts, publishing, and scholarship.
