See also Wikipedia's article about "The Thinker".

Columbia's copy of The Thinker (Le Penseur) is an authentic cast by French sculptor Auguste Rodin himself, one of only a few in the world. It stands outside Philosophy Hall. Some Art Hum classes study the work along with other sculptures by Rodin.

It was featured in a scene of Woody Allen's movie Hannah and Her Sisters. Allen's character wanders past it on a walk through campus, pondering Nietzsche.
