The Lion's Head Tavern is a sports bar on Amsterdam Avenue at 109th St.
The bar has a late night kitchen service, serving up disco fries (cheese fries covered in gravy) to go along with your $1.50 cans of PBR. It also features darts, board games, lots of TVs, and a cozy booth from which you can play XXX Photo Hunt. Altogether, this makes the Lion's Head a popular bar, especially with jocks.
Lion's Head also features the best deal in the neighborhood: the Saturday afternoon's College Football special, $15 for all-you-can-drink beer and all-you-can-eat wings from noon to 6 pm.
Lion's Head was originally founded in 2000 by a couple of stupid Yalies, who gave it the equally stupid name WhatBar.
