Columbia University Information Technology is the computing group of the university to support the general student and faculty population. It was formed by the merger of AcIS and AIS in 2006, and before that from CUCCA, the Center for Computing Activities.
It is so awful and behind the times that the law school, business school and SIPA maintain their own information technology departments.
However, CUIT still controls all the physical internet and telephone connections.
They keep a computer graveyard outside of the Dodge Fitness Center.
