The Morris A. and Alma Schapiro Professor of Engineering is a named professorship typically reserved for the current Dean of SEAS. The chair is currently vacant after the resignation of Feniosky Peña-Mora, but will likely be filled once a new dean is announced.
It is named after Morris Schapiro '23CC and his wife Alma, who are major donors to Columbia. Morris' name also graces both Schapiro Residence Hall and Schapiro CEPSR.
