London is the capital of the United Kingdom, the largest city in the European Union and its most important financial hub, and one of the world's largest, most diverse, and most important cities in general. Some consider it the only serious rival for influence to New York. Because of this, some London schools, particularly the London School of Economics and University College London, are considered the British analogues to Columbia. Unlike New York, however, it lacks significant concentrations of skyscrapers, twenty-four hour subway service, or even express trains. Pity that.
