Milano Market is a good Italian specialty food store on Broadway between 113th and 112th St. It was formerly known as Mama Joy's.
Milano is fairly expensive, perhaps even more than Garden of Eden. However, lots of the food is truly excellent. Check out the Italian staples: pasta, polenta, sauces--and the made-to-order salads with unlimited toppings. Also, the sandwiches and, of course, the excellent beer and ale selection. Many people go there to buy lunch.
