Master of Science (MS) (Latin: Magister Scientiæ) is the basic graduate degree in science.
It has been adopted for other graduate fields that may require "technical" or at least "professional" competency (MS degrees are the basic certification awarded by the Journalism School, for example, and are the degree used by GSAPP's historic preservation program).
