Three birds (of the feathered variety) in Morningside Heights are sufficiently unique to have been given names by Bwog:
- Hawkmadinejad (named for Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
- Nathaniel
- Saakashtweety (named for Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili)
There is speculation that Hawkmadinejad is the offspring of Pale Male. However, Hawkmadinejad was a juvenile (one-year-old) in spring 2008, and Pale Male and mate Lola had not hatched any baby hawks since 2004.
Bwog seems to be obsessed with these birds, going so far as to create a special section of their site called Hawkmadinebwog.
