  • Myles Cooper ended his tenure as president of King's College. He was chased to the Hudson River by an angry mob intent on tarring and feathering him, where sulked around the docks for a night before boarding the H.M.S. Kingfisher the next day. Ironically, Alexander Hamilton assisted in his escape by filibustering said angry mob. Myles Cooper was succeeded by Benjamin Moore.
