The squirrel is one of the few members of the Morningside Heights animal kingdom. It has long been a subject of minor obsession for students.[1] Squirrels were once much loved by Bwog. Today they languish in (relative) media obscurity.

Columbia Squirrel Whisperer

There is a man, popularly known as the Squirrel Whisperer [2], who makes YouTube videos of himself feeding squirrels. He has named every single squirrel on campus, and has trained them to go up onto his shoulder for walnuts [3][4][5].
