Humberto Ballesteros is the Lithum teacher you will regret not having freshman year. He is from Colombia, but studied in Italy. He is also fluent in French and literally speaks Latin. Additionally, his English vocabulary is much better than yours is ever likely to be.
He has authored several Spanish language novelas and in 2010 won the Bogota City National Novel Award. This came one year after winning the La Movida Literaria Review's National Short Story Award of Colombia, which is kinda a deal.
He is considered by some to be the literary genius of our time.
