− | The 292 Magazine launched February 18, 2013 at midnight. However, it was originally planned that it would launch during Fall 2012 in print form. There were several meetings during the fall semester to start the publication as soon as possible. The first photo shoot, starring Dina Chang (CC '16) and Dakota Ceneta (CC '16) for their immediately impressionable sense of style, dates to late September 2012. The co-founders interested in pursuing the magazine gathered a list of interested people, photos from the first shoot, and a set of ideas However, after applying to different Columbia funds such as the Gatsby Fund and not winning them, the co-founders felt disheartened and had bad thoughts such as dropping the idea, forgetting the 292 would ever be a thing, and resuming their own miserable lives. However, during winter break, they got their shit together. They said they'd start this new magazine online with zero cash if they had to. They'd work to improve it over time.

− | The 292 publishes lifestyle stuff about Columbia and New York City. If you think that leaving a trail of oranges on campus is a work of art that deserves serious praise, the 292 will probably take your art seriously (almost TOO seriously...).

− | Apart from covering student work, 292 seeks to cover everything and anything New York. It has interviewed musicians such as Charli XCX, fashion designers Naomi Spindel, etc. thanks to God Courtland Thomas. Taking into full consideration, the mag only launched in 2013. In 2016, they're probably going to interview Beyonce.

− | For any of you lovely fans (or haters) that were dedicated enough to Google the etymology of the name, 292 stands for ***fanfare*** Columbia's color code and is a take on the Barlem (Barely Harlem) area code 212 (also Bank's 1 hit wonder song).
