America's financial and economic heart. Er, until September 11th. Then, in came the checkpoints and attack dogs and Ground Zero tourists and condo conversions. Now, the New York Stock Exchange makes a nice photo op, but much of the real work goes on in Midtown.
People still like to say they "work on Wall Street," though.
