:isn't that what [http://www.columbiaclub.org/ this] is for? it's in midtown, which is probably a better idea, for alumni living in outer boroughs, jersey, connecticut, upstate, whatever. they probably don't want to go all the way uptown to buell hall anyway. ::The [[Columbia Club]] is a joke...it's basically the Princeton Club with like one Columbia campus photo on the wall to appease us. Anyway an alumni house is different from an alumni club...the purpose of the latter is for alumni to have a comfortable place to hang out...the former is to connect alumni and current students, for whom a campus location is convenient.

The university should convert Buell into an undergraduate student center - a real one with pool tables, table football, and most importantly a bar (like the one that used to be in [[Furnald Hall|Furnald]]), etc. Not like our current "[[Lerner Hall|student center]]", which is half office block, half conference facility (with some mailboxes and two shitty cafes thrown in). {{User:Reaganaut/sig}} 17:21, 14 December 2007 (EST)
