Artist in Residence is the name of an occasional position supported by the Arts Initiative. Thus far, Columbia has had two official artists in residence, theatre director Peter Brook, in Spring 2005, and Czech ex-president and playwright Vaclav Havel, in Fall 2006.
The position is not to be confused with that of Columbia Artist.
