The Barnard and Columbia Architecture Program exists for undergraduate students. Operating out of Barnard Hall, it is formally attached to Barnard College and open to Barnard and Columbia College students.
The major offers two tracks - a studio-based track for future architecture practitioners, and a theory track, offered solely to Barnard students. Columbia students wishing to study the history and theory of architecture do so through their Art History Department instead.
Architecture majors, especially in the former track, are hardcore. They often only bond with their small group of fellow majors who slave away in their studios until 4am each day. Expect not to know them if you do not major in architecture; if you do, expect to know no one else.
If they are loyal, architecture majors might go on to pursue a masters at GSAPP.
