Daniel Shapiro CC '07 is the son of poet and '68 protester David Shapiro. Shapiro, a pre-medical Art History graduate and John Jay Scholar, was the first Columbia College student to be awarded three writing prizes by the English Department in an academic year, including the Academy of American Poets Poetry Prize, the George Edward Woodberry Poetry Prize, and the Lea Baechler Prize.
