The Department of Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics is one of the constituent departments of SEAS. Added to the School of Mines in 1868, it is one of the oldest departments in SEAS, offering B.S., M.S., Eng. Sc.D. and Ph.D. degrees in both Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics. The department offices are located on the 6th floor of Mudd along with a computer lab and an affordable vending machine. The department also contains the Carleton Lab.
