Bengal Cafe was an Indian 'restaurant' on Amsterdam Avenue between 110th St and 111th St. It seemingly closed in 2009, and has since been replaced by Hula Poke.
Some past editors were not a fan: "It wis not a very good restaurant because the chefs cater to the untrained palate, serving mild (i.e., bland) dishes. Consequently, no one every goes there. It's always completely empty, and is sad. A better alternative is Indian Cafe, or for true excellence, Indus Valley."
