'''292 Magazine''' (pronounced two-nine-two and NOT two-ninety-two) is Columbia's premiere lifestyle magazine founded by Courtland Thomas, Besiana Vathi, and Cami Quarta (all CC'16). It dabs in fashion, art, music, events, sex, and on occasion, things that matter.

==History==

The 292 Magazine launched February 18, 2013 at midnight. However, the founders originally planned to launch the magazine Fall 2012 in print form. There were several meetings during the fall semester in order to establish the publication as soon as possible.  The first photo shoot starring Dina Chang (CC '16) and Dakota Ceneta (CC '16) dates to late September 2012. The people that remained interested in pursuing the magazine gathered a list of other interested people, photos from the first shoot, and a set of ideas they planned to execute in the publication. However, after applying to different Columbia funds such as the Gatsby Fund and not getting anything, the co-founders dreams were temporarily crushed. They even had thoughts such as dropping the idea, forgetting the 292 would ever be a thing, and resuming their own miserable lives. Thankfully, they got their shit together during winter break. They'd start the 292 Magazine online with zero cash and develop an online readership. They'd work to make the 292 the best version of itself even if they were poor as fuck.

The 292 publishes lifestyle stuff about Columbia and New York City. If you think that leaving a trail of oranges on campus is a work of art that deserves serious praise, the 292 will probably take your art seriously. Seriously.

Apart from covering student work, 292 seeks to cover everything and anything New York. It has interviewed musicians such as Charli XCX, fashion designers Naomi Spindel, etc. thanks to God Courtland Thomas. Taking into full consideration the mag only launched in 2013, they're probably going to interview Beyonce by 2016.

For any of you lovely fans (or haters) that were dedicated enough to Google the etymology of the name, 292 stands for ***fanfare*** Columbia's Pancode and is a take on the Barlem (Barely Harlem) area code 212 (also Bank's 1 hit wonder song).
