William Stanley Wyatt CC '43 MA '45 was a professor of Art History at Columbia. In 1992, the Society of Columbia Graduates commissioned him to sculpt the Teaching Lion, which is located in the Rosencrans Reading Room on the ground floor of Butler Library. His son Greg Wyatt '71 sculpted the Scholar's Lion outside of Havemeyer.
