Benjamin Moore King's College 1768 was president of the university from 1801 to 1810. He had also served as acting president during the first year of the Revolutionary War. He is not to be confused with the paint.
Moore was the second bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of New York. Writer and Columbia divinity professor Clement Clarke Moore was his son, and another college president, Nathaniel Fish Moore, was his nephew.
