The ServiceNation Presidential Candidates Forum was an event involving 2008 presidential candidates Barack Obama and John McCain. Vaguely encapsulating the notion of "service", it was held in Lerner Hall on September 11, 2008. The event was also Obama's first real return to campus since his graduation in 1983.
A lottery determined which (few) students made it in the hall; most of the rest watched the event on a large jumbotron set up next to the Low Steps or in their dorms on CTV. Some student groups fell over themselves to try and capitalize on the event by piggybacking onto it their own activities.
