WBAR is Barnard's student-run free-form internet radio station, located in the basement of Reid Hall. It broadcasts throughout the Barnard campus on 87.9FM and throughout the world on its website. It occasionally books and promotes independent concerts on campus.
Due to its impending demolition, WBAR relocated from the lower-level of McIntosh immediately following the spring 2007 semester.
Contacting DJs
During shows, the WBAR DJs can be contacted by phone at x49944 or over AIM at WBAR Request. The DJs are generally thrilled to have listeners and will do pretty much anything you ask them to, especially late at night.
WBAR-B-Q
Each April, the station puts on a free full day festival on Lehman Lawn called the WBAR-B-Q.
Historical information
WBAR used to be heard in Morningside Heights on 1680AM, but some time ago gave up its FCC license.
