Barry Joseph Weinberg CC '12 was chair of the Student Governing Board from 2011 - 2012. A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, Barry studied East Asian Languages and Cultures, and Political Science - Economics.
Barry served as co-president, vice president, director of outreach and treasurer for Everyone Allied Against Homophobia. He was a student representative on the Committee on the Core Curriculum. He volunteered as a peer advocate for the Gay Health Advocacy Project.
Barry was associate editor and treasurer for the Columbia East Asian Review. He served coordinator of the Columbia Anti-Violence Coalition, as well as Lead Activist for the Columbia College Democrats. He was a member of Columbia Water Polo when they played first All-Ivy Water Polo tournament.
He was a lead advocate and co-founder of Advocates for the Arts Initiative.
He currently serves as the vice president of outreach and external relations for CU Pride, and is a member of Columbia College Young Alumni. He is currently public member of Community Board 9, serving on the committees of Arts & Culture, Zoning and Land use, and Economic Development.
