Columbia University Emergency Medical Service (CU EMS), formerly known as Columbia Area Volunteer Ambulance (CAVA), is Columbia's ambulance service, and the preferred mode of transportation for inebriated freshmen looking for a ride to St Luke's Hospital.
CAVA is also a verb in Columbia slang. For example, you might get so drunk that you need to be CAVAed.
Logistics
You can reach CU EMS by dialing *99 on a ROLM phone or 212-854-5555 from off-campus.
