Sal and Carmine Pizza is an Italian restaurant renowned for its pizza on Broadway between 101st and 102nd Sts. They don't deliver and they don't take credit cards. But the thin, crisp crust and fresh cheese are worth the trip.
The restaurant offers pizza perfection, the Platonic New York slice. It's a classic hole-in-the-wall pizza parlor. it's been in business since 1959, outlasting one of the founders, Sal. The shop long refused to offer a delivery service, but has relented, probably over Sal's dead body, so to speak.
