Psi Upsilon is a fraternity for engineers and computer science majors. In past years, Psi U has been regarded as a somewhat dorky frat; parties featured students walking in to get beer and walking out to leave soon afterwards.

The Lambda Chapter of Psi Upsilon is the oldest fraternity on Columbia's campus. One major Lambda alumnus is Nicholas Murray Butler, Class of 1882.
