A roommmate is a person with whom you share a double room. A suitemate is someone with whom you share a suite. A flatmate is a person who puts up with your annoying habit of using foreign expressions after you've studied abroad.
Usage Note: In Junior and Senior years, when it is assumed that most people live in singles, people often use the term "roommate" to refer to someone with whom they share a suite, though the reverse is never true.
