Steve Estes SEAS '06, nicknamed the "Lord of the Lottery," was known for his extensive knowledge of campus housing. He was hired by campus housing as a freshman after answering upperclassmen's questions about the housing lottery on the department's bulletin board.

Over the years, he has been responsible for creating a number of new systems for the department, including the online room condition report and the housing satisfaction survey.

Estes majored in Applied Math. He now lives in Harlem and works as a consultant. He still returns to Columbia frequently to charm its ladies by breaking onto the roof of many a campus building.
