Philip Kitcher (b. 1947) is a philosophy professor and a former Chair of Contemporary Civilization. He has a delightful foreign accent. His research focuses on the apparent conflict between science and religion.

Kitcher was born in London and spent his early years in Sussex, England. He studied mathematics at Christ’s College Cambridge, then got a PhD in philosophy/history and the philosophy of science at some backwater university.
