Paul Robeson Law '23 was an actor and political activist known for championing Marxism. Robeson came to Columbia after graduating Phi Beta Kappa from Rutgers. He began acting while in law school in order to pay his tuition, which he also supplemented by playing pro football. After a short stint at a corporate law firm, where a white secretary refused to take his dictation, he quit to pursue the stage full time.
