Revision as of 18:42, 4 March 2010

The CCSC elections of 2008 were held on April 21st and 22nd. Columbia College students were allowed to vote for one CCSC executive board party and two University Senator candidates, as well as one or more candidates for several other positions.

Results

CCSC executive board

Sue Yang's Action Potential Party ran unopposed for the executive board.

University Senate

Both open positions for CC Senator were unopposed, with Alex Frouman (CC'11) and Tim Lam (CC'11) winning their spots uncontested.

Class Council elections

The only two class council elections to be contested were the 2010 and 2012 races. In the 2010 race, challenger Cliff Massey and his Clear Party defeated incumbent AJ Pascua and his The Party with 65% of the vote. However, one of Massey's representatives, Ruqayyah Abdul-Karim, was not elected, as the representatives are elected independently. Instead, Maximo Cubilette of the The Party was elected to fill the third representative position.

In the 2012 race, Akito Terasaki and his Access Columbia Party won a clean sweep with 71% of the vote for president and vice-presdient, along with his representatives Kenny Durell, Jasmine Senior, and Brandon Christophe winning election, as well.
