Costantino "Chris" Colombo was the Dean of Student Affairs from the creation of the post in 1998 until 2008 when he decamped for a similar position at MIT.
Prior to his accession to the post Colombo had served as the Dean of Undergraduate Admissions and Dean of Students for SEAS. Roger Lehecka had served in the counterpart post for Columbia College for 19 years. The merging of the two deanships into one super-office was part of President George Rupp's initiatives for enhancing undergraduate life.
His passions include scuba diving, motorcycles (he rides a Harley) and ties (particularly Ermenegildo Zegna).
