The Egg and Peacock Play Festival is an annual play festival organized by the King's Crown Shakespeare Troupe (KCST). The festival consists of usually around a dozen short plays, each of which is written, directed, and acted by undergraduates. Writing usually begins at midnight and continues until auditions around 9am. After the roles are cast, the groups rehearse their plays until performances begin that same night around 8pm. The performances usually draw a very large crowd, as the shows range from very serious to very comical.
The festival was founded in spring 2006 and is currently in its sixth incarnation as of spring 2011.
