Boston University is, shockingly, a university in Boston. It's larger and more cosmopolitan than its suburban rival, Boston College, and sort of plays Columbia to BC's Princeton.
Boston University is to Harvard what New York University is to Columbia, but Boston U are socio-economically diverse and actually learn something, unlike those at NYU.
