The term Writing Center can refer to several different spaces on campus that focus on writing. For undergraduates, this refers to the Writing Center in 310 Philosophy.

Undergraduate Writing Center

The Undergraduate Writing Center is located in 310 Philosophy Hall and is sponsored and run by the Undergraduate Writing Program. The center offers individualized help and feedback for any undergraduate student from CC, SEAS, and GS. The Writing Center consultants are graduate students usually in their fourth or later year of study who have had significant training and experience teaching writing at Columbia. Students may walk in during open hours or sign up for appointments.

Barnard Writing Center

Through its initiative called The Writing Fellows, Barnard offers peer assistance with writing at its Writing Center. The Fellows are specially trained peer tutors who work with writers in all disciplines. The Barnard Writing Center is located on the second floor of Barnard Hall.

Social Work Writing Center

The School of Social Work maintains its own writing center for its students. It is located in Room 530 in the School of Social Work building.

Graduate Writing Center at Teachers College

Teachers College has a writing center for its students in 155 Thorndike Hall. The center is a branch of the Office of Student Activities and Programs and offers a variety of writing services, such as private consultations, writing coaching, and instruction. The Graduate Writing Center also offers workshops throughout the year on topics that meet the wide-reaching needs of the Teachers College population.

Burke Theological Library Writing Center

Union Theological Seminary has a writing center for its students located on the first floor of its library.
